Landlord & Tenant
The Landlord and Tenant Board aims to facilitate and resolve issues arising between landlords and tenants. Florence Legal Services can assist in this area of the law by ensuring the paperwork is correctly completed and served according to the Rules and Regulations of the Residential Tenancy Act, 2006. Often, landlords and tenants enter a lease without the knowledge and understanding of their rights and obligations pertaining to the lease agreement. These misunderstandings may often lead to a hearing before the Landlord and Tenant Board for Adjudication.

There are many people who have made mistakes and poor choices which result in them having to overcome a criminal record when they attempt to find employment, housing or access to countries outside Canada. Obtaining a Record Suspension provides an avenue for these people to clear their record and avail themselves of more positive opportunities in their lives. In March 2012, the Canadian Government, through the Parole Board of Canada, changed the name of the application from Pardons to Record Suspensions. Along with the name, the eligibility to apply has also changed. The following are the eligibility changes:
A person who has been convicted of a Schedule 1 Offence (serious offences involving children) is not eligible to apply.
If a person has been convicted of more than 3 indictable offences, and to those convictions were incarcerated for a term of 2 or more years, they cannot get those charges suspended.
